Good afternoon all
What a fantastic show we had, superb boxing and an incredible atmosphere in the room with Guernsey winning 5-2 overall. All the bouts went the distance with some of the decisions could have gone either way.
After a couple of well fought skills contests, Arnie Watson was first up. Arnie won by unanimous decision against a shorter and aggressive opponent. Arnie used his feet and changed the angles well, to maintain the distance with his reach advantage to take the decision.
Jay Wilson was our first senior contest. This was a cracking contest, where both lads landed good quality punches. Wilson applied the pressure throughout the contest and made him work for every second of the bout, giving a standing count in the 3rd round and winning by unanimous decision.
Martins Kublickis was in an excellent contest with Robbie Chipchase of poole. This was a toe to toe battel for 3 rounds, with Robbie winning by a split decision, both boxers showed great heart and determination throughout the contest.
Fynn Walsh won a unanimous decision against a tough Tom Brown of Truro. This was a bout of the night contender with both lads non stop punching from the opening seconds. Fynn’s more methodical approach gave him the win and he also gave his opponent a count in the second round.
Scott Little lost a close split decision against Kieran McMann of Poole. Another close bout with Kieran edging the decision.
Cameron Hards won a unanimous decision against Darren Williams of Somerset. Cameron went forward the entire contest and outworked his opponent to earn a deserved points win.
Tom Teers won with a unanimous decision against Ollie van de Worp of Gloucester. This was a close contest with both boxers demonstrating excellent evasive and counter punching skills.
The next event is on Friday March 17th, I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible to witness another wonderful evening of Boxing.
Best regards
Micky
