The Guernsey Boxers excelled once again against a strong Hull Select side.
The evening started with three excellent hard-fought skills bouts with the youngsters putting on a good show and doing themselves proud.
Jacob Jones boxed well to earn a unanimous win in only his second contest against a strong opponent, it was a close bout and Jacob’s counter punching worked well.
Arnie Watson won via a split decision. He lost the first round but stepped up his game in rounds 2 and 3 to win the contest.
Josh Lazaroz was involved in a tough but close fought first contest. Both lads landed some heavy shots and gave it their all in what was a bout of the night contender. Josh lost via a unanimous decision.
Tyler Quintel was in fantastic form in a contest which again could have earnt bout of the night. Both lads landing heavy punches, but his opponent won on a split decision, a contest which could have gone either way.
Finn Walsh was involved in great contest. The clash of styles made this into a very entertaining bout. His opponent was an aggressive front foot boxer and Finn had to box smart to earn the win. Finn measured the range well and boxed cleverly to get the decision and earn the bout of the night award.
Ruslan Gogercaks won via a unanimous decision. Another close contest. Ruslan boxed with great discipline, keeping his shape well and picked his punches well to earn the win.
Tommy Teers was the last fight of the night and was once again against a strong Hull opponent, Tommy got a 2nd round stoppage win via an overhand right which put his opponent on the canvas. His opponent got to his feet but didn’t make the count. A great win for Tommy that will do his confidence the world of good.
